After heading full force into the new year with little time to relax, sometimes you’re just in dire need for a little R&R! I recently shared a social media post asking my followers to send in their recommendations of the best places to getaway! The post ended up with quite the list so I’m turning it into a fun blog post! There are some amazing places just right in our backyard!

It was also fun to see what photos I have taken to go along with certain locations. There are a lot here I haven’t checked out so I will be adding those to my lists of adventures for the year and will be sure to share the photos from those trips when the time comes!

Check the list out and be sure to add any additional spots that should be added to the list in the comments below!

Alderbrook Resort & Spa

Located approximately two hours west of Seattle, Alderbrook Resort & Spa is nestled on Washington’s scenic and serene Hood Canal, overlooking the Olympic Mountain range. Choose from a room or cottage and enjoy a variety of exciting activities while you visit - treatments at the spa, yoga, kayaking, hiking, cookouts and so much more. While you may choose to opt for a weekend away, Riana says that she loves visiting Alderbrook for “a hike and lunch - it’s like a FULL GETAWAY even if it’s just a couple hours!”

Salish Lodge at Snoqualmie Falls

Since the Salish Lodge is in the heart of the Pacific Northwest, adventures start right in its backyard. The Lodge has a luxurious spa, golfing at The Club at Snoqualmie Ridge, interactive culinary experiences and plenty of fine dining opportunities. Kasey shared: “You can relax at the lodge and stay the night, go to the spa, eat dinner and drinks all at the restaurants. It’s a little expensive but I think it is worth it and you can walk around to see the falls while you are there too!”

Snug Harbor Resort on Friday Harbor (San Juan Islands)

A private getaway can be discovered at Snug Harbor Resort, all 17 cabins and 3 suites are spacious with beautiful interiors, expansive glass, vaulted ceilings, full kitchens, and uninterrupted, stunning views. Paddle boards, kayaks, canoes and bikes are all complimentary to guests staying at the resort, perfect for an outdoor adventure.

Seabrook-95.jpg

Seabrook, Washington

One of Washington’s favorite beach towns! Seabrook has so much to offer all in one place! Great restaurants and shops to keep you busy all while being a fairly close get away. Rent one of their houses which come in all sizes or just head out and explore for the day.

A Tour of All the McMenamin’s Establishments

Well known in the Northwest, McMenamin’s have a variety of amazing establishments and thanks to Melinda’s suggestion, I added their Passport Tour to my list! :)

Robin Hood Village Resort in Union

Robin Hood Village is nestled in a forested-nook alongside the historic Robin Hood Restaurant and Pub, and is walking distance to 3 dining experiences, including the award-winning Alderbrook Resort & Spa. With live music five nights a week, there is no shortage of entertainment. They offer free kayaks to their guests and after your paddle, you can go back to relax in one of the many private hot tubs on the property. Stacie exclaims: “Go for dinner or stay the weekend! The grounds are beautiful, you will not be disappointed!!”

A Portland Adventure

Regardless of where you stay, Portland, Oregon is just a stone’s throw away from Washington and can bring you quite the fun adventure no matter what you get up to! Julie said, “We stayed at an Embassy Suites because we love them, ate a quiet dinner, and just chilled at Powell’s Books. It was such a nice, slow paced and relaxing weekend - just what we had needed.”

A few of my favorite places that are worth checking out!: Blue Star Donuts, The Food Trucks, The Tea Bar, and Pistils Nursery!
